Mr. Richard Toley, Headmaster
With a passion for ancient history and early civilisation, Mr. Toley has taught Classics at Lathallan School for the last six years. In 2009 Mr. Toley also became the Headmaster of Lathallan School.
“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher,” recalls Mr. Toley. “My family are all teachers, so that and an inspirational Junior School teacher motivated me to pursue education as a career”.
Mr. Toley graduated from St David’s University College, Lampeter with a degree in Ancient History, where he took a particular interest in Homer and Hesiod. He then attended the University of St Andrews to complete his Masters degree studying early Greek state formation. He has recently been made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Besides being a busy Headmaster, Mr. Toley also runs the Lathallan School ‘Warhammer Society’, and likes to read historical novels such as the Flashman series in his spare time.
