Mr Cullen Christie, History
Mr Christie, originally from Victoria, Vancouver Island, was delighted to join Lathallan School to teach History in the senior school.
After specialising in twentieth century history, particularly Germany and American foreign policy at the University of Victoria, Mr Christie successfully completed his undergraduate degree, and enrolled in teacher training at the same institution.
After a spell teaching in his native Canada, Mr Christie decided to expand his teaching experience, and along with his Scottish partner, decided to move to Scotland. “I first arrived in the north-east of Scotland and immediately felt at home. I like the combination of rural and coastal, and there are plenty of things to do” said Mr Christie.
After initially teaching in Aberdeen, Mr Christie jumped at the chance to join Lathallan School. “I was completely blown away when I first saw Lathallan” smiled Mr Christie. “The location is stunning, and the sea view from my classroom is fantastic. Working in a castle, well for a History graduate like me, that’s pretty special!”
“I’ve been made to feel very welcome” Mr Christie continued. “It feels like a big family community. The pupils are very respectful and polite, and clearly want to learn, so all in all I’m very happy to be at Lathallan School.”
