Mrs. Claire Smyth, Science

Mrs. Smyth has long been fascinated in the world of science. This led to her successfully completing her BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Leicester, where she especially enjoyed studying immunology and human physiology.

“I realised that I really wanted to share my enthusiasm for science,” explained Mrs. Smyth. “Teaching seemed like the ideal way to do that. I’ve been teaching since 1991, and have been at Lathallan School for the last ten years”.

“I remember my first impression of Lathallan was that it was pretty magical!” smiled Mrs Smyth. “I think Lathallan is the perfect place to teach Science, with all the scope to do eco-projects in the vast school grounds, as well as the Science lab, and of course the enthusiastic children”.

As well as running the school’s eco-club, Mrs Smyth also finds time for munro-bagging as well as looking after all her animals.
