A place in which challenge, industriousness and maximising individual potential is pivotal in our pupils' educational development

Head of Lathallan Prep School and Deputy Head of Lathallan School

Mr James Ferrier, BA (Hons)

James Ferrier was educated at Hardyes School, Dorset and Christ Church College, Canterbury, University of Kent.Following teaching posts at St Richard’s, Herefordshire and St George’s Buenos Aires he was appointed Senior Master and Boys Housemaster at Moor Park School in Shropshire. James and his wife, Lorraine arrived at Lathallan in 2001 when James was appointed Deputy Head, becoming Head of the Preparatory School in September 2007.

“I am committed to the holistic ethos of a Lathallan education, which attracted me to the school when I first joined in 2001.  Small classes, a committed staff and a broad curriculum help to inspire and enthuse all the children, whatever their strengths and this success helps them to achieve their potential in all areas of their development. The new Curriculum for Excellence supports and encourages this ethos and as Head of the Prep School I am committed to developing further the four “capacities” of the new curriculum: successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.”

James Ferrier
