"It is extremely rewarding to see the pupil's own performance develop and benefit from their broadening knowledge base"

Senior School pupils in S2,3 and 4 have either Games or PE everyday, those in S5 have Games three times a week. All current Senior School pupils have represented the School at either rugby, hockey, netball, cricket, tennis, cross country or athletics. As a small school, pupils will always have this opportunity which gives all the chance to develop teamwork skills and many the honour of captaincy. Further information on our sporting successes appear in the Achievements section of this website.

Pupils in S3/4 have the opportunity to take PE as a Standard Grade Intermediate 2 level course. This offers pupils the opportunity to study PE at a challenging level and to develop critical and analytical skills in order to achieve an understanding of performance and how it can be developed.

Head of PE, Fiona Howie explains “It is a fantastic course to teach to pupils who have a genuine interest and ability in sport as the prime focus throughout the two year course is on performance. It is extremely rewarding to see the pupil’s own performance develop and benefit from their broadening knowledge base and the investigative and evaluating principles of performance analysis that they learn to use so effectively”.
