Parents' Association

The Lathallan Association exists to promote social activities for families and staff at the school and coordinates a range of inclusive events throughout the school year.

The activities of the Association are co ordinated through a committee.  The Committee typically meets once each term and the AGM is held in May; this is when members of the Association are elected to sit on the Committee. With such a large catchment area it can prove a challenge to meet easily and so at the start of each term, the Association hosts a coffee morning in the drawing room of the Castle for parents to meet old friends and welcome in our new families.

Although the primary objective of the Association is not to raise funds it does organise inclusive events that may produce a surplus, which then contributes towards school projects.

Over the last three years, the Association has helped fundraise and has contributed over £12,000 to the school, which has gone towards non-core 'extras'.  Examples include a cricket astro turf, cricket nets and posts, new chanters for our junior pipers, science equipment, equipment for our Eco Group, a new kiln for the Art Department, interactive white boards for junior school and various other equipment like TVs, DVD recorders and cameras.

To welcome in our new families and ensure that Association Events are well promoted throughout the school each Form has a "Form Rep". Our Form Reps are appointed at the start of each school year. The role of the Form Rep is purely to communicate details of Association events, sharing contact details within each class and welcoming new parents.

All parents pay a small fee to be members of the Association and all are warmly welcomed at events. Offers of help and new ideas to Committee members are always welcomed.

Current parents can see the full list of the Committee, and Class Representatives in the secure parents' section of this website.
